Jenine Evans is a collaborative pianist and bilingual piano teacher based in Ottawa. Jenine completed an MMus in Collaborative Piano Performance at the University of Montreal in 2024 under Francis Perron and Liz Upchurch, and a BMus in Piano Performance at the University of Ottawa where she studied with Leopoldo Erice and Mauro Bertoli in 2021.

Most recently, Jenine performed in duet recitals with her colleague, Isabelle Kanz, in Ottawa and Wakefield, QC. For many summers, Jenine performed music of underrepresented composers with vocalists across the Canadian Maritimes. She has also performed in solo piano recitals while studying in Croatia and Italy. During her undergraduate studies, Jenine spent several years playing piano, synthesizer, organ, and percussion with the Ottawa Pops Orchestra.

Jenine has a special interest in coaching classical singers. She has studied English, French,Italian, and German diction and has worked with voice students at both the University of Ottawa and Carleton University.

Jenine spends most of her time teaching piano to students of all ages and levels. With her affinity for languages, she is excited to incorporate the Suzuki Method—a language-inspired approach to music education—into her teaching. She strives to foster confidence and community in her studio by individualizing her teaching and creating opportunities for students to learn and connect through group events such as masterclasses. Her goal is for every student to both achieve personal success and feel that they belong to a community of other passionate musicians.

When Jenine is away from the piano, she is likely to be found practicing tricks on the trampoline or trampwall, or trying her hand at the ukulele!
